There is couple of things that an underwriter considers when reviewing your insurance application. They check your liver enzyme thru a blood test if it is positive for an alcohol-related
problems of other medical problems. They also check your record for any drunk-driving convictions and an APS from your doctor. If there are “red flags” in one or more of these, your insurance premium may be affected if not denied.
If you want to get a lower life insurance premium in Texas, the first thing that you can do is apply for an extra premium to be tacked on your regular insurance premium. This additional fee will normally disappear between two to five years after your last citation.
Reducing your alcohol intake can help you lower the rates. You can have your liver enzyme level checked by your doctor to monitor the progress. You can approach your insurance company at least after six months or two years to show them that you are giving effort to improve our health condition. If your insurance company in Texas is not willing to lower your premium, look for other life insurance provider.
